Description
At the time of a Private Party Transfer appointment, the seller and buyer must both be present along with with the firearm(s) being transferred. The seller must bring his/her CA DL. The buyer must bring his/her CA DL (If you do not have a Real ID, you will need to bring an additional document such as a valid Passport),
Seller Brings:
- CA DL
- Firearm(s)
Buyer Brings:
- CA DL (REAL ID) – if you do not have a REAL ID, please bring an additional document such as a valid US Passport
- Proof of Residency (only for handgun transfers)
- Firearm Safety Certificate OR Firearm Safety Certificate exemption
Private-party transfers are subject to the 10-day waiting period (to the minute) from the time of transfer to taking possession.
